SURFIS INC was started in 2005 by the father and son combination of William (Doug) and Douglas Shetterly. Prior to starting SURFIS, Doug worked for a regional industrial manufacturing company for 25 years, where he developed his knowledge of industrial processes and product applications. In the early 2000s, he pioneered the use of Refrasil silica products in new and unique applications and started SURFIS to focus on the high temperature and custom insulation manufacturing markets.
Douglas is an analytics expert, focused on supply chain operations and servicing transportation industry customers.
