About Us > Surfis Inc is a sales, design, and distribution company co-founded by the father / son combination of Doug and Douglas Shetterly. Our purpose is to be the single source for all industrial and aerospace grade insulation products and services to industrial manufacturers and suppliers in the Midwest. Through maintaining low overhead, efficient management of inventory, and hands on customer service we provide total solutions at the best prices. Doug has 30 years sales and design experience as a manufacturer’s representative for a large industrial supply company in the Midwest. Known for his eye in finding new ways to utilize existing technologies, he was awarded the “Bulldog” award by Hitco in 1999 for his innovative use and application of Refrasil silica products in manufacturing processes and products. In his 30 years of experience, Doug has developed relationships with product engineers at our suppliers which are utilized to find the best solution for our customer’s needs. Douglas’s
background is complete with 9 years of experience in the insurance, travel,
and restaurant supply industries. During his 3 years in the insurance industry,
Douglas managed cash reserves of insurance products as an actuary. In the travel
industry for three years, Douglas managed and priced vacation rental property
inventories. In his previous position to Surfis, Douglas did sales forecasting
and demand planning for a supply chain management company of a globally known
fast-food restaurant chain. This unique combination of experience has prepared
him for the financial side of Surfis, and will be in charge of inventory management,
pricing/billing, and financial reporting/planning. |
